It’s really fun to cook and try out new recipes, especially when you stumble upon a recipe you and your family love. I’ve tried all the most popularrecipesites, and I’ve definitely found some winners using them.
However, I find that the star rating frequently isn’t accurate – people love to give an item five stars, but then in their comments they’ll mention how they changed the recipe. Also, some people don’t cook very well and blame the poor taste of the food on the recipe instead of their own cooking. Most of all, I never know how my kids will react – just because a recipe has 5 stars doesn’t mean my kids will enjoy it.
I now have a new strategy that works with my kids (and my husband) 100% of the time. I go to https://foodmenuguru.com and browse the restaurant menus there for restaurants and foods that I know my kids love. It gives me great ideas for new recipes, and then most of the time I can actually check out the recipe at the restaurant’s website or find them online.
For example, last time I was looking through the restaurant menus, I stumbled upon the Benihana menu. My whole family loves Benihana, especially their Fried Rice dish. So I got the idea to make the Benihana Fried Rice dish at home from FoodMenuGuru.com and then got the recipe for Benihana Fried Rice by doing a quick Google search.
The dish was a big surprise for everyone and a huge success! I’ve done this dozens of times now and it’s been wonderful! I don’t need to ask a psychic to figure out what my kids will enjoy, and can now save money and make healthier versions of food that I know they love (and will eat). I suggest you do the same!
